In response to Reading for Sept. 13th
Due Sept. 13th (minimum 2 pages):
Write a 2 page reflection piece that compares and/or contrasts the two readings due for Sept. 13th ("Do I Look Like Public Enemy Number One?" by Lorraine Ali and "My New Nose" by Dan Barden, Mirror on America: Short Essays and Images from Popular Culture). Using the following questions below to help guide your response, write a two page comparison/contrast response that discusses the similarities and differences between the two stories. Below are some questions to help guide you through the response assignment:

In each reading, what, according to the author, was their most clearly identifying characteristic? (In other words, what do they identify as making them "stand out" amongst others?) Why? Give textual examples.

Are these "identifying markers" that each author writes about something that s/he perceives about themselves or others perceive about them? In other words, did each author choose their "identifying marker" or did someone else (or others) chose it for them? EXPLAIN.
